Eat Drink Man Woman - 1994 - Ang Lee

Ang Lee is a great technicaly director. His pacing and shot composition are wonderful. Storytelling, on the other hand, is not a strength of his. Eat Drink Man Woman like most of Lee's other films has a story worth telling but Lee does so with all of the subtlety of a sledge hammer. In this case the heavy hand does not harm the warmness this film.
