The Lady Eve - 1941 - Preston Sturges

Preston Sturges, Barbara Stanwyck and Henry Fonda together almost guarantees a fantastic movie. The Lady Eve is classified as a screwball comedy but, Sturges never lets the slapstick elements overrun the film. In the end the film manages to achieve an excellent balance of romance and comedy.
